2016 has delivered a number of exciting changes for Dragon; our new sister company (Dragon Portland Ltd) began trading from the newly completed Bulk cement terminal at Portland, together with the addition of four new people to the family of Dragon cement.

Mike Marler General Manager for both Portland and Sharpness terminals. "The launch of Dragon Portland has been a fascinating project for our new team in Portland. We have delivered a brand new business on time and on budget and the credit for this must go to the team in particular Richard Hewer Depot Manager for both Portland and Sharpness Richard went off on secondment to the Portland project as well as maintaining overall control of the terminal in Sharpness".

New Team Members

Tess Hewer was first to join us based in the Head office at Sharpness followed, by Ian O’ Dowd and liam Belsten based in the new terminal.

The final peace of the jigsaw was the appointment of a new assistant commercial manger, following a lengthy recruitment Owen Hemsley joined the family.

Phillip Whitman Technical Commercial Manager for Both Portland and Sharpness; "Owen Is an ideal addition to our Dragon family. Owen delivers a new set of skills to the business and this will complement our existing highly skilled team. Owen will spend time understanding our business model and analysing market data together with reviewing the commercial system. Owen will be reporting on our packed market and meeting our customers".

On Sunday 17th September Dragon Alfa Cement Limited entered 9 runners in to the Great run Bristol Half Marathon. Our team of runners was made up of representatives from Stowell Concrete along with employees and their family members from both Sharpness and Spain. We would like to congratulate each runner on completing the 13.1 mile course and thank them for their hard work in representing Dragon at the event along with raising money for their respective charities.
